Experimenting with instrumental ignorance

Although the Special Needs Project no longer exists, it was an extremely fun and eye opening experience. Certain illusionistic perceptions about creating music were destroyed. One does not have to be proficient in playing an instrument in order to play with others or to make music.

I learned from this process that a group of people who know nothing about their instruments, first share a rhythmic foundation.

Through this process I encountered ideas about the necessary audible elements of music. What does music sound like versus noise? The resolution of this question is more difficult that one would think.
